What he builds

NotchBay turns the MacBook notch into a Dynamic Island-style hub: live activities for music, calendar, AirPods and Bluetooth battery, Zoom and Google Meet call controls, a 60-clip clipboard tray with OCR, drop-to-share through your own Google Drive, on-device dictation, and a Claude Code companion that shows agent status and usage limits in the notch. It is a native app, signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, sold as a $19 one-time license (list price $39) with a 3-day free trial and no subscription.

It requires macOS 26 (Tahoe) or later and is designed for a MacBook with a notch; on a Mac without a notch, or on an external display, it runs as a small floating pill at the top edge of the screen. The current version is 0.2.34, released 5 September 2026. Every release is listed on the changelog, and the press kit has the same facts in a form you can quote.

Ossian Design Lab

Ossian Design Lab is the studio behind NotchBay. Its site is ossiandesignlab.com.

How this site is written

The product claims on notchbay.com are checked against the shipping build (last checked against NotchBay 0.2.34 on 5 September 2026), and the blog and the notch apps directory name the other Dynamic Island apps for Mac (NotchNook, Alcove, DynamicLake, boring.notch, TopNotch and Atoll), all of which predate NotchBay. NotchBay is not the first Dynamic Island app for the Mac, and this site does not claim to be. When a competitor does something better, the comparison says so.
